Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using an Internet account. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine each instance.
After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, a few versions of the game give the player a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
