Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has selected which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones each instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
