How to Play Electronic Poker
November 12th, 2015 by Cornelius

Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using an Internet connection. The game rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning bettors are able to pick the most beneficial ones each and every time.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, several versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
