Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be played in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using an Internet account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the best mixture of cards possible in order to win cash. On this account it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones each and every time.
After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game give the player a chance to double their profits, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
